An Ambitious Journey

Serving our students and housing our faculty, staff, and administrators has long been a challenge for the UCR School of Business. Our home base, Anderson Hall, is a beautiful and historic 1917 Mission-style building, which was bult as the Citrus Experiment Station for state-funded agricultural research. While beloved by so many, the School of Business has outgrown Anderson Hall.

An ambitious years-long journey—planning, drawing, and fine-tuning—has now moved into the building phase with our groundbreaking ceremony on April 27, 2023. With final blueprints in hand, the new structure will sit across from Anderson Hall in what was formerly Parking Lot 8. This location creates a business school complex housing all of our programs, faculty, and classes.

An Engaging Business Hub for Students and the Inland Empire Community

We knew that when we built a new home for the School of Business that easy engagement, a healthy academic environment, and a sense of empowerment—all central to our Strategic Plan—were paramount. Integral to these goals is a building designed to adapt to uses and technology yet unknown. This includes indoor and outdoor in-person learning, studying, event, and meeting spaces, as well as state-of-the art technology for hybrid learning.

The LEED-certified building will have flex spaces for ever-changing needs to more efficiently serve our students, support faculty research, and engage with business leaders and community members from across the region.
